The Baltimore Ravens (8-5), winners in three of their past four games, host the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-11) for a 1 p.m. battle at M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday (Dec. 14). Baltimore is in a tight race in the ultra-competitive AFC
North, which is the only division in the NFL where all four teams are at least
one game above .500. The Ravens, who have already played five of their six
division games (a Week 17 home battle with the Browns remains), are a half-game
behind leader Cincinnati (8-4-1). Pittsburgh is also 8-5, but currently owns a
tiebreaker over Baltimore, while Cleveland is 7-6.
Despite a slow first-quarter start, the Ravens rallied
for a 28-13 come-from-behind victory last Sunday at Miami. The Dolphins jumped
to a 10-0 lead, limiting Baltimore to three-straight three-and-outs and just 22
yards in the initial period. However, in the final three quarters, the Ravens
outgained their hosts 425 to 161 yards, outscoring the Dolphins 28-3. QB Joe
Flacco finished 25-of-33 for 269 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT, while also adding a
rushing TD. WR Steve Smith Sr. caught 7 passes for 70 yards and a TD, and RB
Justin Forsett rushed 13 times for 71 yards and 1 TD, part of Baltimore's 183
yards rushing on the day. The Ravens' defense produced 6 sacks, including 3.5
by OLB Elvis Dumervil, who set a new single-season team mark with 16 QB drops.
OLB Terrell Suggs added 1.5 QB takedowns.
